Fontbonne beats MacMurray
The Fontbonne University women’s soccer team defeated MacMurray College this past weekend 9-0 to improve to 4-3 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC).
The Fontbonne University women’s soccer team defeated MacMurray College this past weekend 9-0 to improve to 4-3 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC).
Fontbonne sophomore Kendra Schilli and freshman Robyn Meesey each recorded a hat-trick in the game. Schilli and Meesey are now tied for the team lead in goals with nine apiece. Freshman Ava Johnson and sophomore Erin Price each scored a goal as well. Freshman Kim Carter tallied two assists in the game.
On Sunday, the Griffins dropped a non-conference game to Washington University 8-0. Fontbonne’s overall record now stands at 6-11. The Griffins return to the field Saturday as they host Eureka College at 2pm in their regular season finale. Fontbonne needs a win against Eureka to earn a spot in the SLIAC Post-Season Tournament.
