Fontbonne falls to Webster
Jan. 23, 2012 - The Fontbonne University men's basketball team fell to first place Webster University on Saturday 84-69. The Griffins dropped to 3-13 overall and 2-6 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC).
The Griffins fell behind by 10 points at halftime after shooting just 32 percent from the floor and 26 percent from behind the arc. Fontbonne shooting woes continued in the second half as the Griffins were never able to close their deficit to closer than 10 points.
Fontbonne shot just 34 percent from the floor for the game and 26 percent (8-31) from behind the arc. The Griffins' bright spots included a game-high 17 points for sophomore Yada Demisse while junior Bryton Curtis had 13 points off the bench. New transfer Greg Gentry had 10 points off the bench in his Griffin debut.
Fontbonne returns to the court Thursday night as they host Spalding University at 8 pm.
