May 3, 2010 – In their final weekend of the season, the Fontbonne University women’s lacrosse team split a pair of games to end their season with a 7-6 record. The Griffins defeated North Central College 14-10 on Friday and lost to Carthage College 15-4 on Saturday.
In Friday’s game, Fontbonne junior Emily Spalding scored five goals and added an assist to lead the Griffins to victory. Senior Katie Radeackar scored three goals and added three assists while sophomore Mary Alice Pierce tallied four goals. Fontbonne junior goalie Claire Kallio recorded 15 saves in picking up the victory.
In Saturday’s game, Spalding scored three of Fontbonne’s four goals. Courtney Russell scored the Griffins other goal in the 15-4 loss. Kallio had a season-high 18 saves in the loss.
