Men's Golf Coach - Lance Thornhill

In 1996, Lance Thornhill was named men’s golf coach at Fontbonne University.  Since that time, Coach Thornhill has led the Griffins to St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Championships in 2002, 2004, and 2006. He has been named the SLIAC Coach of the Year in 2002, 2004 and 2006.

Coach Thornhill graduated from Pattonville High School in St. Louis County, where he played both basketball and golf. He attended college at Southwest Missouri State University playing both sports until an injury forced him off the basketball course. He continued to excel on the golf course lettering for three years and twice being named to an All-Conference team.

Coach Thornhill earned his undergraduate degree from Southwest Missouri State University and his master’s degree from Webster University. 

In addition to coaching men’s golf, Coach Thornhill also coaches women’s golf and is the assistant men’s basketball coach at Fontbonne.
