New tennis coach excited about first year

New Fontbonne University men’s and women’s tennis coach Adam Franke is eager to get his first season started.
“I’m excited about this opportunity at Fontbonne and look forward to taking the next step towards success within the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC),” Franke said.
Franke, a native of St. Louis, was hired as the Griffins’ head men’s and women’s coach this fall. He served as Fontbonne’s assistant coach last season. Prior to Fontbonne, Franke was an all-conference tennis player at Maryville University.
Franke believes both programs, the men’s and women’s, have the ability to improve on last season’s performances. Both teams finished in last place in the SLIAC last season and failed to win a match. Franke however is optimistic about the future.
“Both teams will have some new faces along with some valuable returning players and both will hopefully make positive strides within the SLIAC,” Franke said.
The women’s team opens their season on March 6th against Stephens College at Webster Univeristy while the men play Lewis and Clark Community College on March 9th to open their season.
