Head Women's Golf Coach - Lance Thornhill

In 2005, Fontbonne added women’s golf as an NCAA sanctioned sport and named Lance Thornhill as their head women’s golf coach.  Coach Thornhill was already serving as the head men’s golf coach at Fontbonne. As the men’s coach, Coach Thornhill was named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Coach of the Year in 2002, 2004 and 2006.

Coach Thornhill graduated from Pattonville High School in St. Louis County, where he played both basketball and golf. He attended college at Southwest Missouri State University playing both sports until an injury forced him off the basketball course. He continued to excel on the golf course lettering for three years and twice being named to an All-Conference team.

Coach Thornhill earned his undergraduate degree from Southwest Missouri State University and his master’s degree from Webster University.

In addition to coaching women’s and men’s golf, Coach Thornhill also is the assistant men’s basketball coach at Fontbonne.
