Baseball team opens SLIAC Tournament as #3 seed
May 12, 2010 – The Fontbonne University baseball team has earned the #3 seed in the upcoming St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Tournament held at Glik Park in Highland, Illinois.
The Griffins (20-18) will open Thursday night at 5:30 pm when they play #2-seed Greenville College (26-12). Fontbonne lost two out of three games this season to Greenville.
The early game Thursday pairs #1-seed Webster University (30-9) against #4-seed Eureka College (19-19). The tournament is a double-elimination format with games scheduled on Friday and Saturday. Fontbonne’s schedule for Friday and Saturday will be determined by their results.
The winner of the tournament will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Fontbonne is the defending SLIAC Tournament Champions, winning it last year as a # 4 seed.
Admission to the Tournament is $5 for adults and $2 for students.
