Men's golf takes 2nd place at SLIAC Tournament
April 20, 2011 - The Fontbonne University men's golf team finished in second place in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Tournament held Monday and Tuesday at Forest Park Golf Club in St. Louis, Missouri.
As a team, the Griffins shot a three-round 916 to finish in a tie with Spalding University for second-place. Webster University won the tournament with a three-round total of 886.
Fontbonne was paced by junior Nolan Zoellner who finished in fifth place in the tournament by posting rounds of 73-72-78. Zoellner earned First Team All-Conference honors. Senior Matt Tuggle finished just two strokes behind Zoellner with a three-round total of 225 with rounds of 74-76-75. Griffins Charlie Martin, Brett Hulsey and Bryson Potts finished in 20th, 21rst and 22nd place respectively.
