In fact, the Griffins were the first NCAA school at any level to offer a NCAA sanctioned men's lacrosse in Missouri.
Fontbonne played as an independent team for the first couple of years before joining the Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) in 2009. The Griffins first year competing in the MLC was in 2009-2010. The MLC consists of such schools as Carthage College, Mount St. Joseph College, Adrian College, Trine University and Milwaukee School of Engineering.
The Griffins practice and play their games at newly renovated Centene Stadium in Clayton, Missouri. Centene Stadium features such facilities as a new synthetic field turf, bleachers capable of seating 1,200 spectators, a press box, new rubberized track and lights.
