Fontbonne began women's golf in 2006. The Griffins are currently competing as an independent as Fontbonne's normal conference (SLIAC) doesn't sponsor women's golf.

The team practice and plays at such local golf courses as Norwood Hills Country Club, Glen Echo Country Club and Forest Park Golf Course. The team also practices at Tower Tee Golf Range.

The team travels the Midwest Region to compete in events.
