Adam Freidrich (Baseball)
Adam was an infielder on the Griffins' baseball team during the 2000 and 2001
seasons. Adam transferred to Fontbonne for his junior and senior seasons. In his junior year (2000), Adam received Second Team All-Conference honors but in his senior year he was picked to the First Team All-Conference and was American Baseball Coaches Association Second Team All-American.
During that senior year, Adam hit 0412 with 61 RBI's and 10 home runs. Adam
led the team in RBI's and home runs. Fontbonne finished that year with a 11-10
conference record and a 17-21 overall record. In his junior year, Friedrich hit .379 with six home runs and 32 RBI's. He helped led Fontbonne to a 17-19 overall record and a 10-4 conference record.
Amy Hauschild (Women's Volleyball/Women's Basketball)
In her career Amy recorded 901 kills, 891 digs and 397 blocks. She was the SLIAC Player of the Year in volleyball in 2000 and 2001. She was voted to the SLIAC FirstTeam All-Conference in 2000 and 2001. During her four years at Fontbonne, Amy's team went 76-27 and won the SLIAC Championship in 2000 and 2001. Amy is the career leader at Fontbonne for blocks with 397. She set the single season record for blocks at Fontbonne with 119 in 2000.
In basketball, Amy was the SLIAC Newcomer of the Year in 1998-99. She was voted SLIAC First-Team All-Conference all four years of her career. Amy was the SLIAC Player of the Year in 2000-01. For career, Amy averaged 16 points and 8 rebounds a game and shot 53 % from the field. Amy is the SLIAC's third all-time leading scorer with 1,628 points. Amy holds the following Fontbonne career records; most points (1,628), most rebounds (788), most consecutive games (103) and most FG's (664).
Amy was inducted into the SLIAC Hall of Fame in 2007.
Toby Lindsay (Men's Baseball)
Toby transferred to Fontbonne at the beginning of his junior season in 2000.
Toby, who was an outfielder, earned the SLIAC Newcomer of the Year and First Team All-Conference honors that year. He batted a team high .450 with a team-leading 49 hits. He also scored 33 runs while driving in 21 RBI's. Fontbonne finished 10-4 in conference that year which was good enough for 2nd place.
In his senior season, Toby hit .444 which was once again a team high. He scored a team high 47 runs while driving in 41. His performance once again earned him First-Team All-Conference honors. Fontbonne finished 11-10 in conference and 17-21 overall that year.
Melissa Steward (Women's Basketball)
Melissa came to Fontbonne as a freshman out of Hazelwood Central High School
during the 1997-98 school year. For the next four years, Melissa would serve as the starting point guard on the Griffins basketball team.
During her freshman season, Melissa scored seven points a game but led the
Griffins in assists, averaging more than three a game. As just a freshman, Melissa was in the top lO in the conference in steals and assists a game. Her freshmen year she earned All-Conference Honorable Mention honors.
In her sophomore season, Melissa averaged 11 points a game while once again leading the team in assists and leading the team in
steals. Melissa finished second in the SLIAC in steals and third in assists during that year. She earned Second Team All-Conference honors that year.
In her junior year, Melissa averaged 13 points a game while once again leading
her team in assists and steals. Those numbers earned her First-Team All-Conference honors. During her senior season, Melissa again led her team in assists and steals while averaging more than 13 points a game. She was again was voted to the SLIAC First-Team All-Conference.
Melissa currently holds the single season record for most steals with 108 and
career record for most steals with 301. During her four years at Fontbonne, her team won the SLIAC Championship every year while compiling a 43-3 conference record and a 83-21 overall record.
